Players had a little bit of coaching from Michele Jackson, did some drills and played some games. The session ended with a 1 set exhibition between Lynda Dunlop and Beverley Scott, both lrish Masters internationals, and refereed by another Irish International player and referee Dorothy Armstrong. On September 25th, an online EGM was held to consider motions proposed by the Board of Irish Squash to change our Constitution.

The President provided an outline of the proposed changes which are aligned with our Strategic Plan. The main aim is to support the necessary change in Board structure, allowing it to become more strategic rather than operational.

Following discussion amongst those attending the EGM, it became clear that further information was required on the operational changes arising from voting in an updated Constitution. Therefore, the President proposed a vote on postponing the EGM and this was passed by a simple majority of members present.

As you may be aware, Irish Squash are still awaiting some clubs’ affiliation payment for the 2023/24 season. There are two payments, the CLUB affiliation of 120 (£110 for NI clubs) and then INDIVIDUAL PLAYERS  affiliation (see the affiliation flow chart)

Irish Squash understands that some clubs may not have their official numbers of players to be able to submit and pay for their individual members affiliation, but we are requesting immediate payment of the 120 CLUB affiliation fee. This fee covers your club with insurance and going forward, Irish Squash will be unable to approve tournaments and events in clubs that have not paid their 120 CLUB Affiliation fee.

Massive thank you to those clubs who have already provided the club affiliation fee as well as their list of members and their individual fees for the season.

Finally, a reminder to clubs who said they would send us their list of members to get their official list of members as soon as they have them to ensure there are no issues with tournament eligibility and that these players are covered by Irish Squash insurance. These can be sent to [email protected]
